FREE Baby Shower Games & Baby Shower Game Ideas

We have put together a few FREE baby shower games for you to do at your baby shower. Many of these ideas were given to us by our customers ENJOY!! We hope you have a fabulous baby shower and hope these free baby shower games come in handy!

Big Belly Race - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ This is an excellent couples or co-ed shower idea!! Blow up some balloons, have all the men in the room (or women) put one under their shirts, and then have a "RACE" to see which one of them can tie their shoes the fastest!! This is truly FUNNY and the mom-to-be will absolutely love watching them.

Fastest Baby Bottle Drinker - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ This is a good one! You'll learn just how HARD it is to drink out of a baby bottle!! Fabulous coed shower idea ~ Fun for daddy's to do this. Have a few baby bottles filled with something ready to drink. Start a timer...the person who is done drinking first is the winner!!! (Please note it is more difficult to drink out of a baby bottle then you think, so the smaller baby bottles are best to use.)

Dirty Diaper Game - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ We've seen this played a couple of ways.
Option 1. You'll need (5) cloth diapers or disposable diapers and some miniature candy bars (5 different flavors). Put a different mini candy bar in each diaper and slightly microwave them (be sure you keep track of which is which)! Pass the diapers around to see IF they can figure out what candy bar is in each diaper. This is a RIOT!!! Your guests will laugh the entire time! The person who guesses the most correctly WINS!
Option 2. You can hand make small individual diapers out of paper or fabric and put a small "stain" (chocolate, mustard, etc) in a winning diaper. As guests arrive give each person one to pin on their shirts. The guest who receives the "stained" diaper is the winner! If you don't want to make your own diapers, we have these adorable hand-made felt dirty diapers for sale ~ this is one of our most popular baby shower games!

How BIG is the Mom-To-Be's Belly? - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Pass around a roll of toilet paper or string to cut. Have your guests cut the length they think is the measurement of the Mommy's belly!! (Please note: make sure the Mom-to-be is OK with doing this before the game starts). The guest that is closest to her actual belly size is the WINNER!

Baby Picture Match - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Have your guests each bring a baby picture of themselves. Pass around the baby pictures and see which guests can match the person at the shower with the baby picture ~ whoever selects the most correctly is the winner!!

Bottle "Baby" Game - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Buy little bottles from the arts and crafts department. Put them on a ribbon or string. Tell your guests at the door when you give the bottle to them that if they say the word "BABY" at all during the shower, whoever catches them saying it "takes" their bottle necklace. Whoever has the most at the end of the shower is the WINNER. (This free baby shower game idea came from customer ~ Erin ~ thank you!)

"It Takes Two" - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Get two people and/or couple have them stand side by side. For example: man on left - woman on right. Have man's right hand and womans left hand to assist each other in dressing a "baby DOLL". As tiny as some babies may be it's amazing how difficult it is to dress a baby without tossing it around. The guests were laughing on how the woman was trying to put the diaper on and the man was trying to put arm through the dress - I guess it goes back to original saying "It takes two"!

Guess the Baby Food - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Have 10 (or any amount) baby food jars. Remove each label from the jars & number each jar lid 1-10. On a poster board tape the labels from the jars, have the guest try to match them with the right baby food. Just make sure you write the correct answer down so you can check them once everyone is done. This is really fun and a lot harder then you might think.

Guess how much is in the can & and the winner will get "ALL"!! - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Get a can and decorate it before the guests arrive, when the guest arrive pass the can around and tell them or you can put it on the can to put some money, as much as they want, at the end of the shower whoever gets the closes amount will get "ALL"... When you get a winner, give him or her a bottle of "ALL detergent"!!! Guests will get a laugh from that one.

Dress the Baby Race - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Get 2 people, blindfold them, hand them a baby doll, doll clothes, a diaper, and powder. See you can dress the baby the fastest. Baby must have powder and ALL clothes on. Grown folk are soooo funny.

Pin the Pacifier on the Baby - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Just have someone draw up a big baby face on construction paper and make a bunch of pacifiers out of different colored paper. Have the guests stand about five feet away, blindfold them, spin them around three times and let them go. Whoever comes the closest to getting the pacifier in the babys mouth WINS. Its a really funny game when you do it with adults, we did it at my baby shower and everyone laughed so hard. Just a nice idea!

DRAW A PREGNANT LADY GAME - Free Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Each guest takes turns drawing with a marker on a piece of paper, as best as they can, their version of a pregnant lady. The trick is, they cannott see what they are drawing they have to hold it in their lap facing the rest of the guests. If you have a good group of people, it is hillarious!! and the mom to be can keep all they drawings for a scrapbook.

DRAW THE BABY GAME - Free Baby Shower Game ~ Each guest is given a white paper plate and a colored pencil, crayon, or marker. Have each guest hold the paper plate on top of their heads and draw a picture of the baby. Guests get a "big bang" out of each others pictures! Have each guest sign the back of their pictures and give them to the new mom as keepsakes!!

Toilet Paper Diaper ~ Baby Shower Game Idea ~ Ask a person to find a partner and take a roll of toilet paper and dress the other person up in a "toilet paper" diaper as neatly as possible using the entire roll. the team to get finished first is the winner.

Fun Baby Shower Idea ~ My daughter held a baby shower for her sisters first baby and we had a great time. She told each guest in the invitation to bring (as a extra gift) a pack of diapers or wipes and they would get a raffle ticket, at the end of the shower she held a drawing for a nice candle gift basket. So my other daughter received tons of diaper and wipes. It was great. (

GUM Baby ~ Give all guest a stick of chewing gum and have them chew the gum and then make a baby the best way they can using the chewed up gum. Whoever makes the best looking baby WINS!

Clothespin Game ~ AT MY BABY SHOWER WE HAD A CLOTHES PIN GAME. TO PLAY YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING: BLUE OR PINK CLOTHES PINS (BOY OR GIRL), A LONG STRING OF YARN, PLACE ALL THE CLOTHES PINS ON THE STRING AND WHO EVER CAN TAKE OFF THE MOST CLOTHES PINS WITH ONE HAND WITH OUT DROPPING ANY AND WITHOUT TOUCHING YOURSELF WINS THE PRIZE!

Multi-tasking Dad ~ This game is especially fun for co-ed parties. Have two people hold up a clothes line. Give the "victim" (male participant) a baby doll to hold, a telephone to talk on, and a basket full of clothes to hang with clothes pins. The timer begins whenever the dad receives a phone call (someone can call him from a cellphone). He must then proceed to have a conversation, hold the baby and hang out the clothes-all at the same time! The man to hang all clothes the quickest wins. This is hilarious and the men get a taste of what a multi-tasking Mom does all day.

What's inside the bag? ~ you take a couple of brown lunch bags, and you number them. You then put a baby item in each bag. For example in the 1st bag you may have a pacifier and then staple the bag and when the bag goes around everyone will have to guess what it is in the bag. This is alot of fun.

Measure your belly game! ~ First have the mother to be stand up. Using crate paper or even toilet tissue, have each guest take off how big they think the mom's belly is. This is funny, because the guest will be rolling off either too much or not enough, and the one who comes the closets wins.

The Name Game! ~ If the parents to be have picked a name for the new arrival, you can pre-print the baby's name on some paper (Xerox of course) give every guess a sheet and let them see how many words they can come up with, within about 60 seconds. Make sure you have a timer.

The Cotton Ball Game ~ Get 2 people blind fold them and give them each a big cooking spoon and a bowl. Have the 2 people down on all fours and throw the cotton balls in between them. At the same time they will have a minute to scoop up as many cotton balls and place them in there bowl. The one who has the most wins.

Run with the baby game ~ Set up a long piece of cloth line on one end of the room and have two people (good for anyone) run from across the room to pick up clothes form a basket and hang it up with baby on one arm and cordless phone attached to ear. Whoever hangs all clothes the fastest without dropping baby WINS!!

What's in a Purse? ~ This game was played for my first baby shower and it was so much fun. First you have the mother to be make a list of things (about 5 things), just anything. Like a spoon. a utility bill, or nail polish, or even a black and white photo. or even a two dollar bill, a Q-tip, etc. Things normally not found in a purse. (You would be surprised what some women have in their purse.) And the first person who shouts out I've got that, Wins ! You have a winner for each item.

Name-Tag Game ~ Give each guest a nametag. Each name tag had an interesting word such as diaper, baby food, wipes, nipples, pacifier, receiving blanket, etc. When the guest received her nametag, that automatically became her new name. If the guests were caught using someones real name they had to put money(pennies, dollars, any amount) in a special basket for the baby.It was quite funny hearing everyone making comments like, "Is that present from Wipes?" and "Diaper, will you please pass me a napkin?".

Mom-to-be's Name Game ~ Spell out the mom-to-be's name long ways on sheets of pink paper. Ask the guests to think of baby names beginning with each of the letters in her name. The guest who finished first was the winner!

The Tray Game with a "TWIST" ~ Everyone knows how to play the tray game of course but this one has a little twist to it. Have a tray with various baby items on it and walk around with it or pass it around to each guest (prefer hostess hold it), give all guests paper to write down everything they remember but not about the items on the tray? They need to know the answers to your questions about "The Mom-to-Be" attire. Of course the Mom-to-be has to leave out of the room. Examples:
"What color shirt is she wearing?"
"Long sleeve or short sleeve?"
"How is her hair?"
"What color necklace if any?"

Remember what's in the bag ~ Place small baby items (i.e. pins, pacifiers, thermometer, ointment, etc) in medium sized paperbags. Have the circulate in the room and have your guests guess what is in the bag. The guest with the most correct answers wins.

Famous Mothers ~ Here's a baby shower game idea for you. We call this game "famous mothers". Pin the name of a famous mother on the back of each guest. Each guest mingles amongst the other guests and asks them yes or no questions to try to guess who they are. (Examples, "Am i still alive?" "Am i a movie star?") The first person to guess right wins a door prize. Typically, one of the guests has the name of the mother-to-be on their back.

Baby Food Game with a "twist" ~ Another version of the "baby food game"....choose 4 guests to participate and blind fold them as well as put a bib on them. This takes away some of their "senses"...just like when you are feeding a baby and they have no idea of what kind of food they are about to eat. Have the "mother to be" give each person a bite of 4-6 different kinds of baby food. Each blind folded person must guess at what kind of baby food that they ate....the person with the most correct...wins!! Its very comical to watch the facial expressions of those chose to partake in the baby food!!

Questions about the couple ~ Get a set of 10 to 20 questions about the expecting couple time & see who gets the most amount right, questions should be about how well they know them. Such as will they breast feed or not? Or what is the mothers maiden name? and so on.

Pin the diaper on a balloon ~ great for co-ed showers! ~ The parents to be race to put (the old-fashioned cloth and pin) diaper on a balloon. Whoever finishes first without popping the balloon, wins! While the other has to wear a baby bib!

Pins in the Rice ~ Get a nice sized bowl and filled it up with rice.(uncooked, of course)...she put a nice amount of safety pins in the bowl. Each player must be blind folded and the one who can pull out as much pins in the rice WINS!!!!..It is a really funny thing to look at!!

Remember that one? ~ The mom-to-be writes a list of 20-30 nursery rhyme questions ex: who did simple simon meet while going to the fair? Guests are all given a piece of paper, and have 3 minutes to answer as many as possible. You'll be surprised at how much we have all forgotten about our beloved childhood nursery rhymes!!! You'll find that you will kick yourself at times for not remembering the silly easy ones!!!

Whos Baby Is Born First? ~ For my sisters first baby shower someone told me about this game and actually it turned out to be way more fun that I ever imagined . Go to a craft store and buy some of those little (tiny) plastic babys that you can use on decorations . It is real simple all you have to do is fill up some ice trays then drop the little babies in them . put them in the freezer and make sure they freeze all the way . When you guests arrive give them a small plastic cup with the ice cube in it . The object of the game is to see " whose baby is born first" . They are not allowed to take the baby out of the cup . It is sooo funny to see people try to defrost that little baby ( also to see who is cheating ) . It turned out to be a wonderful game. We offer a game like this for sale... My Water Broke Game!

Baby Food Game with a Twist ~ In disposable diapers put the flavors of 10 or more different flavors of baby food into separate diapers (the diaper then looks soiled). Number the diapers and the flavors, pass the dirtied diapers around and let everyone guess at the look or the taste of the flavor in the diaper. It's really funny to see people lick at the flavor inside of the diaper. The person with the most correct guesses wins the game.

Mystery Guest Game ~ You have to play the games first for this to work, but I have never seen anything so funny. You have a friend that the host nor any of the guest have ever met. You give her a large purse or bag with about 20 things inside, some should be odd or funny as well as a few reg. "purse" things. Just as you have everyone seated, you announce that you are going to get started, as everyone starts to get quiet, your "guest" should enter and look confused. Have her come up to you or the host and ask if this is Sue's wedding shower. ( I was the only one there that knew of this game, the hosts and her mother were asking each other if they knew this person) Tell her no, and ask where she is supposed to be. She will then say she has the invitation in her bag and proceed to empty all of the contents on the head table. Wave a few around, be clumsy and a little loud, embarrassed, keep apologizing. She will then pull out an invitation with the address a few numbers off of where you are. Give her directions and have her clean up and leave. Everyone will be talking and laughing. Give them a few minutes then bring the guest back. Introduce her and then have the guests write down as many things as they can that were in the purse. No one will believe it when the guest comes back in the 2nd time.

Game Prize Idea ~ At all the baby showers and bridal showers we take new pencils and have the guests use these for the games that require them to write down their answers and decorate them with curly ribbon and attach stamped baby items to them and have one a different color or number them and then at the end of the party the one with the correct color or the number the mother to be pulls out of a container wins the door prize and the guests can keep the decorated pencil to take home and use to remember the event they had such a good time at.

BABY ~ Write down the word baby on a piece of paper. Before anyone gets to the shower, put it under any seat where the guests will be sitting. Don't tell anyone about it. At the end of the shower, tell everyone to look under their seats for it. Whoever is in that seat at that time WINS!!!

What is in the bottle? ~ Get a brand new bottle and stuff it full of either safety q-tips or cottonballs (make sure you count them!). Pass the bottle around and have each guest write on a piece of paper how many they think are in the bottle. The closest one to the actual number wins and the bottle can go to the mommy to be as a useful gift! (can also fill with jelly beans or m&ms)

Digital Camera ~ Designate someone to have a digital camera...as each guest arrives take a photo of them with the mother-to-be. If you have a large crowd...put round colored stickers on the guests so you know who has had their picture taken. Then develop the pictures in duplicate, mailing one back with your thank you and other set becomes a keepsake for the mother-to-be. Make sure the Thank You cards and envelopes are large enough to hold a 4x4 or 4x6 photo. Also, buy a photo album so the mother will have a ready made keepsake. I've done this at bridal and baby showers and everyone loves to get a picture back as a momento with the thank you.

Pudding Fest ~ get two couples or three or four. each couple will be blind folded. give each couple some vanilla or chocolate pudding and a spoon. Start the timer. Each couple has to feed the other couple all of the pudding at the same time. The first couple to finish the pudding without spilling any on the floor wins. This is hilarious and yummy.....Enjoy!!! (This baby shower game idea was emailed to us by Juanita ~ thank you!)

Cotton Balls in a Cup ~ We played this game at a friend of mine's shower and it was HILARIOUS! First, a player is blindfolded and spun around three times. Then they are led to a bowl of cotton balls on the floor or a low table (players will be crawling of course) and with their hands behind their back, they have a certain amount of time to use a spoon that is in their mouths to take the cotton balls from the bowl and put them into a cup that is on a chair or on the table near the bowl. The person to get the most cotton balls in the cup is the winner. This game was so funny to watch, but may be difficult to play if all the players are mommies to be that are too big to crawl!

Clothes Line Game ~ We played it at my sister's shower and it was a lot of fun! You get a bundle of clothes in a laundry basket, a clothes line and clothes pins. You have two people hold each end of the clothes line, then you have a guest hang as many clothes as they can in 30 seconds (this is the hard part) while talking on the phone and holding a baby. Some people use a doll and some people actually held my son (who was about a year old at the time and was very wiggly). It was a blast, we actually got some of the grandma's there to play too and they did pretty good.

Name Baby Items Game ~ Have two people extend a long yarn, string, ribbon. etc.(one person on each end) place about 20 or more colored clothes pins on a basket or tray, have the first player hold the basket or tray in one hand, have some one keep track of about 20 seconds on a timer, and another person keeps track of the baby items baing called so that they are not repeted. When the time starts, the player begins grabing one pin at a time, placing it on the string while player calls out a baby item (carseat, diaper, crib, ect.) per pin as fast as they can, when the time ends, the player must stop, pins that fall don't coun't. the person with the most pis wins. Have fun playing and see how many baby items you can remember with out repeating any.

Feed the Baby ~ You need two people for this game one is the baby and one is the mommy. Each mommy needs a jar of baby food or chocolate pudding is even funnier with a baby spoon the mommy feeds the baby, the pair that's done first wins. This is so funny to watch.

Baby's Price is Right ~ This is so much more fun than the tray game. You purchase all of the baby items you want to get and then set them on a tray. Ask everyone to guess the prices of each item. When they are done with that they add up the total. Whoever is closest to the correct total amount wins!!!

Potato Drop ~ I HAVE A GOOD GAME TAKE A GOOD SIZE POTATO AND A JAR. PLACE THE JAR ON THE FLOOR THEN PUT THE POTATO BETWEEN YOUR LEGS CLOSE TO KNEES AND WALK AND TRY TO DROP THE POTATO INTO THE JAR.WITH OUT USING YOUR HAND ONLY YOUR KNEES. THIS GAME IS LOTS OF FUN. YOU WILL HAVE EVERYONE LAUGHING.

THE CUCUMBER GAME ~ GET A BIG-SIZED CUCUMBER, HAVE YOUR GUESTS STAND IN A CIRCLE, HAVE SOMEONE PUT SOME MUSIC ON, THE FIRST PERSON MUST PUT THE CUCUMBER BETWEEN HER LEGS AND PASS IT ON TO THE NEXT PERSON, WHO ALSO MUST RECEIVE IT BETWEEN HER LEGS, KEEP PASSING IT. IT'S LIKE A GAME OF "HOT POTATO" AND "MUSICAL CHAIRS." HAVE SOMEONE TURN THE MUSIC DOWN, THE ONE WITH THE CUCUMBER IS OUT OF THE GAME. ALSO, THE ONE WHO DROPS THE CUCUMBER DURING THE GAME IS OUT. THE LAST PERSON WITH THE CUCUMBER, WINS THE GAME. IT'S A LOT OF FUN AND WILL KEEP EVERYONE LAUGHING.

UN~SCRAMBLE ~ MAKE A LIST OF BABY ITEMS, OR THINGS THAT ASSOCIATE WITH A BABY. SCRAMBLE THE WORDS, SO THAT THEY ARE DIFFICULT TO READ. PASS EACH PLAYER A PIECE OF PAPER AND A PENCIL, USE A TIMER FOR THIS GAME, AND SEE WHO CAN UNSCRAMBLE THE MOST WORDS IN A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME. THE WINNER RECEIVES A GIFT! PS We also sell a Baby Word Unscramble Game too.

Stand Up ~ I went to a baby shower and they played a game called stand up. Everyone stands up and the host turns her back to the people and starts if any one has red nail polish on sit down, if you have lip stick on sit down, this continue's until only one person is left standing we had a great laugh.

If you know baby's name game ~ Pass out paper and pens to each guest. Have them write the baby's name (if unknown, the mom-to-be's name works well) down the edge of the paper. On go, have them look through their purse and find items beginning with each letter. The one who gets them all the quickest wins. For more fun, have the winner go through her list and show everyone what she had.

Timer Open Gifts Game ~ It's a game that you play when your mom-to-be is opening her gifts. You have a timer (like for cooking) and have it set to go off every 15 minutes or so, depending on how many gifts there are. When the timer goes off, the person's gift who the mom-to-be is opening, gets a prize.

6 Dirty Diaper Game ~ THIS WAS A PRETTY FUNNY GAME & I'M SURE WHOMEVER USE THIS IDEA WILL THINK THE SAME. YOU'LL NEED 6 DIAPERS AND 6 DIFFERENT CHOCOLATE CANDY BARS. NUMBER THE DIAPERS 1-6 & MAKE A LIST 1-6 OF WHICH CANDY BAR IS IN EACH DIAPER. PUT THE CANDY BAR IN THE DIAPER AND PUT IT IN THE MICROWAVE UNTIL IT MELTS BUT NOT ALL THE WAY CAUSE YOU WANT IT TO LOOK AS IF YOU JUST CHANGED A DIRTY DIAPER. YOU PASS THE DIAPER AROUND AND HAVE THE GUESTS GUESS WHAT KIND OF CANDY BAR IS IN EACH DIAPER. WHOEVER GUESSES THE MOST RIGHT WINS!!!
